Summer Travels

This summer was such a sweet one for our family. Since Jake wasn’t with a team for spring training, we were able to spend lots of time at home in Georgia and sneak away for a few trips—two as a family and even one just for the two of us. These moments together felt so special, and I’m so thankful for the memories we made.

Fromm Family Trip with Friends

We kicked off summer with a beach trip to Blue Mountain Beach on 30A with Jake’s parents and our best friends. Jake’s parents have a place there, and it’s become such a special getaway spot for us.

This time, Jake’s best friend Tony and his wife joined us with their little boy, who’s just a couple months younger than Luke. Watching the two of them play together was the sweetest—they’re bound to be best buddies just like their dads.

Trip Highlights:

  • Luke’s first time walking on the beach (a core memory for sure!)

  • Quality time with Jake’s parents and dear friends

Ostman Family Trip

Last year, my parents hosted our first official family trip, and we all loved it so much that we decided to make it an annual tradition. This year we returned to 30A and stayed in the WaterColor community.

Our family has grown so much over the years—I grew up with three sisters, and now two of them are married with kids of their own. All together, there were 9 adults and 4 kids this year (soon to be 5 when baby boy arrives!). Luke has two older cousins (ages 10 and 7) and one just a little younger than him, and he absolutely adores them.

Luke was at such a fun age for this trip—about 15 months old, running everywhere and splashing in the ocean. Getting everyone together isn’t always easy, but the memories we make are worth more than gold.

Trip Highlights:

  • Watching Luke play nonstop with his cousins

  • Swimming and splashing in the ocean with our big crew

Babymoon in Grand Cayman

To close out the summer, Jake and I took our very first trip without Luke since he was born. I was definitely a little nervous to leave him, but I knew he was ready—and deep down, I knew it would be so good for us to have intentional time together before baby #2 arrives.

My parents kept Luke for the weekend while we hopped on a quick two-hour flight from Atlanta to Grand Cayman Island. We spent three nights soaking in beach time, reading, eating incredible food, and savoring uninterrupted meals (all the parents out there know how big that is!).

I’m so glad we made the choice to go. It was such a life-giving trip that allowed Jake and me to connect before stepping into a busier season, and it gave Luke a chance to practice being a “big boy” without us.

Trip Highlights:

  • Swimming in the ocean + reading on the beach with the love of my life

  • One of the best desserts I’ve ever had—crispy, sugary churros!

This summer was one for the books. Whether it was splashing in the ocean with Luke, laughing around the dinner table with family, or sneaking away for some one-on-one time with Jake, these are the moments I’ll treasure.

Grateful, refreshed, and ready for all that’s ahead.
