Homemade Vanilla Wafers
These homemade vanilla wafers are soft, buttery, and packed with vanilla flavor—so much better than store-bought! They add the perfect from-scratch touch to banana pudding, and honestly, they’re delicious all on their own.

Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
⅔ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
3 teaspoons vanilla bean paste or pure vanilla extract
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the egg, vanilla bean paste, and milk, mixing until smooth and well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Scoop teaspoon-sized rounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Cool completely on a wire rack.
